The Hyderabad Metro Rail management is finalizing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the new Metro Phase-II project from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar. This new metro line will have six stations. The DPR is expected to be completed within a month, and construction work is set to begin in four months.
The LB Nagar to Hayathnagar Metro Phase-II corridor will cover a distance of 7 km and will be an extension of Corridor 1 (Miyapur to LB Nagar). Hyderabad Metro officials have conducted inspections along the proposed corridor. The DPR is currently being prepared and is scheduled to be finalized within a month, with construction work anticipated to start in four months.
The senior official of Hyderabad Metro emphasized that the corridor will be approximately 7 km long and will extend the existing Miyapur to LB Nagar Metro line. The alignment will run in the central median from LB Nagar Junction to the proposed Chintalkunta metro station. From Chintalkunta to Hayathnagar, the metro alignment will be on the left-side service road due to the construction of four new flyovers by the National Highway authorities.
Once the detailed project report is completed, the locations for the five remaining stations will be finalized. The stations are planned to be established at one-kilometer intervals along the corridor. The design of the stations will be decided during the execution stage of the project. This 7 km stretch is part of various national highway projects, including flyover construction, so special attention is being given to ensure easy access for rail passengers.
Many daily metro rail passengers who commute from Hayathnagar to different parts of the city, especially the IT corridor, have expressed excitement about the upcoming LB Nagar-Hayathnagar Metro Phase-II. They believe that once operational, it will greatly benefit their daily commute.
