The Telangana government has introduced a major change in the education system to provide quality education to the poorer sections of society. On Friday, foundation stones were laid for the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools at 28 different locations across the state.

During the event at Kondurg in the Shadnagar Assembly constituency, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to establish such schools in all 119 Assembly constituencies. These schools aim to offer quality education to the poor, irrespective of their caste, creed, or religion, all under one roof.

These integrated schools will be equipped with modern facilities like digital smartboards, computer centers, libraries, and sports facilities. Each school will have football and cricket grounds, as well as basketball and tennis courts. The schools will be built on large campuses, ranging from 20 to 25 acres, in each Assembly segment. The government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore to construct these schools this year.

The schools will offer education from 4th grade to 12th grade, with each school capable of accommodating 2,560 students. Around 120 teachers will be recruited for each school, with a focus on teaching science and mathematics. Additionally, students will learn about Green Energy through non-conventional power generation plants set up on the school premises.

The government also plans to provide students with healthy and nutritious food every day. A special menu will be created to ensure that students are physically strong.

These schools will mainly benefit students from underprivileged communities such as SC, ST, BC, and minorities. The aim is to reduce educational inequalities and give all children access to quality education. The curriculum will follow the state syllabus but will also prepare students for competitive exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, and other national exams. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects will be emphasized, but there will also be a focus on humanities and languages.

In addition to academics, the schools will encourage the overall development of students by including extracurricular activities like sports, arts, and cultural programs.

The foundation stone-laying ceremonies took place in a festive atmosphere at 28 locations. Some of the selected constituencies for the first phase of the program include Kodangal, Madhira, Husnabad, Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal, Mancherial, Narayankhed, and many others.
