The Telangana state government has passed an interim order criticizing the appointment of VRAs in other positions and recognizing them as government employees.

On Thursday, the High Court issued an order suspending GOs 81 and 85, which merged VRAs in the government. The order will maintain the previous status quo before July 24, when the revenue department issued GO 81. This means that the appointments of VRAs who have already joined various departments are now considered invalid.

Justice Maravi Devi heard three petitions related to this case on Thursday. The petitioners agreed to remove CM KCR (Chief Minister and Revenue Minister) and the central election commission as respondents. However, they did not agree to remove Navin Mittal CCL as a respondent. The high court will decide if Mittal should be a defendant in his personal capacity.
