The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next three days. The region has already been facing a series of low-pressure systems and cyclones recently.
The latest weather report indicates that the low-pressure area in the southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify. It is expected to move west-northwest towards the coasts of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu by December 11. Due to this, light to moderate rainfall is predicted across various districts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with some areas expected to experience heavier rain.
On December 10, light to moderate rain is expected, particularly in the coastal regions and Rayalaseema areas of Andhra Pradesh. Districts such as Alluri Seetharamaraju, Kakinada, Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, Nellore, Kurnool, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, and YSR are likely to see light showers.
From Wednesday to Friday, heavy rainfall is forecast in districts like Annamaya, Chittoor, and Tirupati. Officials have advised farmers to take precautions to safeguard their crops from potential damage caused by the adverse weather.
In Telangana, the weather department has noted the possibility of light showers, along with foggy conditions during the mornings in Hyderabad. Light rainfall is also expected in various parts of the state on December 11 and 12.
Residents in both states are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the weather conditions remain unpredictable due to the low-pressure system.
