Jurala, a small but important place, is currently experiencing a major flood. Constant rains have led to an influx of 160,000 cusecs of water into the Jurala Project. To manage this, authorities have opened 32 gates.

The beloved river Krishnamma is rushing at a speed of 157,000 cusecs towards Srisailam Mallanna. This dramatic sight has attracted visitors from nearby villages and towns. The power and beauty of the floodwaters have turned the usually quiet area into a busy hub.

Families, adventure seekers, and nature lovers are all coming to Jurala to see this rare event. People are lining the banks to watch Krishnamma’s waves created by the massive release of water. The flood has brought the project to a halt, with many visitors marveling at the force of nature.

In the midst of this chaos, local vendors have set up food stalls. They are offering various fish dishes made from fresh catch from the river. The delicious aroma of spicy fish curry, fried fish, and other local delicacies fills the air, adding to the unique experience.

The Jurala Project is usually known for its role in water management and irrigation. Now, it has become a temporary tourist attraction. Despite the flooding challenges, the community is coming together. They are making the best of the situation and showing resilience and hospitality during this natural event.
