A woman in Nagarkurnool district threw her four children into a canal, causing their deaths. The woman, Lalitha, was addicted to drinking toddy and was not taking care of her kids. Lalitha and her husband, Saramanda, would often argue about this issue. One day, Lalitha went to the police station and shared her problems. The police promised to counsel her husband and called him to the station. However, Lalitha left the station with the kids before Saramanda arrived. She went to a canal near Saishobha Rice Mill and threw all four children into the water. Locals tried to save the kids, but unfortunately, they all died. The police recovered three bodies but have been unable to find the body of 7-month-old Markandeya. This incident has shocked the community and the police. The husband requested the police to register a case. The bodies were taken to the government hospital, and efforts are being made to find Markandeya’s body.
