One person in Hyderabad has died from suspected Covid-19, out of the 10 new infections reported in Telangana. The Health Minister, Damodara Rajanarsimha, held a meeting with health officials to discuss the situation. One of the cases is from Karimnagar, and two junior doctors at Osmania General Hospital have also tested positive for Covid-19.

During the meeting, the Minister instructed officials to ensure an immediate supply of oxygen for Covid-19 patients and to check that all PSA points are working properly. He also emphasized the importance of keeping all equipment in place.

The officials stated that the state has the capacity to conduct 16,500 RT-PCR tests per day. They also mentioned that 6,344 samples were collected in the past two weeks, and the results are still pending.

Dr. Nagendar also explained that the Covid-19 variant JN1 is mild with mild symptoms, so there is no need to panic. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and providing guidelines to hospitals.

The patient who was reported to have died, Md Subhan, actually passed away due to severe heart failure and not because of Covid-19. He had tested positive for Covid-19 coincidentally. Currently, there are three stable Covid-19 positive patients in the hospital’s isolation ward.

In summary, there has been one suspected Covid-19 death in Hyderabad, along with 10 new infections in Telangana. The government is taking measures to ensure adequate oxygen supply and equipment readiness. The hospital superintendent clarified that the reported death was not due to Covid-19 but severe heart failure.
