    Health Festival Held in Nizamabad to Mark One Year of Governance

    A health festival program was organized on Monday at the Government Medical College in Nizamabad as part of the celebrations marking one year of public governance in Telangana. The event was attended by Bodhan MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy, District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumantu, and other dignitaries.

    Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka virtually inaugurated newly established government nursing colleges and Maitri Trans Clinics from Hyderabad. Several ministers, including Damodar Rajanarasimha and Ponnam Prabhakar, along with government advisors and health officials, were present during the virtual launch. Locally, MLA Sudarshan Reddy and Collector Hanumantu lit the ceremonial lamp to officially open the health festival in Nizamabad.

    During the event, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 442 newly appointed civil assistant surgeons and 24 food safety officers. In his live-streamed address, he emphasized the government’s commitment to improving healthcare in Telangana. He remarked that 7,800 nursing officers had been appointed so far, and plans are underway to fill another 6,496 vacancies in the health department.

    The Chief Minister highlighted that, within just 10 months of the current government’s tenure, 55,000 jobs have been created across various sectors, with 14,000 positions filled in the medical field alone. Additionally, 11,000 teaching jobs have been filled through the DSC (District Selection Committee). To enhance healthcare access, the government has established 16 new nursing colleges and is improving 104 and 108 ambulance services, especially in rural areas.

    Significant reforms in healthcare include increasing the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme’s coverage limit from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh shortly after the government took charge. The Chief Minister also announced that the government is working to address unemployment by systematically filling vacancies across departments. Reforms have been implemented in the Telangana Public Service Commission to ensure efficient recruitment processes, including appointing retired DGPs and senior IAS officers as commission leaders. Similarly, universities are seeing new appointments for vice-chancellors and teaching staff.

    Despite financial challenges, the government is delivering on its promises. Initiatives like free bus travel, ₹500 gas cylinders, and free electricity up to 200 units for poor families have been rolled out. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to waiving crop loans of up to ₹2 lakh, benefiting 25 lakh farmers with a ₹21,000 crore loan waiver. He also announced the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme after the Sankranti festival.

    The event saw participation from notable figures, including State Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Handan, State Cooperative Union Limited Chairman Manala Mohan Reddy, and District Library Association Chairman Antireddy Rajireddy. Health officials, medical students, and other dignitaries were also present to mark the occasion.
