T Harish Rao, a senior leader of BRS, criticized the Education Department for ignoring the problems in primary education under the Congress government. He highlighted issues faced by teachers, students, and mid-day meal workers in government schools and urged the Chief Minister to address these concerns. Harish Rao conducted a field inspection in his constituency to verify these issues and called for prompt action.

He pointed out that honorarium for cook-cum-helpers, mid-day meal bills, payments for eggs, salaries for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and sanitation in schools were all pending or delayed. Harish Rao requested immediate release of funds for sanitation, restarting the CM’s breakfast programme, providing free electricity for schools, filling vacancies in government primary schools, and appointing Vidya volunteers until DSC recruitment is completed. He also demanded the clearance of pending dues for SC, ST, BC, and minority pre-matric scholarships from last year.
