Finance Minister T Harish Rao strongly criticized the Congress party’s stance on power supply to farmers in Hyderabad. He accused Congress leaders of neglecting the farmers’ electricity needs and spreading false claims that only three hours of power supply is enough. Harish emphasized that Telangana is a role model for the country as it provides high-quality free electricity to farmers, while during the Congress’ rule, farmers only had access to four to five hours of electricity.

The Minister also criticized Congress leader Addanki Dayakar’s proposal to install meters on bore wells, pointing out that even Sonia Gandhi opposes the idea of free electricity. Harish highlighted that during CM KCR’s time as Deputy Speaker in the TDP government, he urged Chandrababu Naidu to reduce electricity charges for farmers. However, after farmers were shot during a protest led by Naidu, KCR resigned and founded the TRS party to fight for statehood and address farmers’ grievances.

Harish condemned the threats against Dasoju Shravan, a BRS party leader who raised concerns about Congress policies. He called for constructive political debates and discussions instead of intimidation and coercion. The Minister demanded an unconditional apology from the Congress party for spreading false information about the electricity issue.
