The Health Minister of Hyderabad, T Harish Rao, said that the government is prepared to handle the current heatwave. He participated in a meeting organized by the Union Health Ministry, where they discussed measures to be taken for the increased temperatures and hailstorms. The Health Department had conducted a review in March and provided special training to medical officers, who then trained the medical staff at all health centers. The government has made arrangements for public health care, including providing necessary medicines and water facilities at bus stands and railway stations. They are also ready to treat those who suffer from sunstroke with speciality wards, ICU beds, and ambulances stocked with necessary medicines. The minister advised people to take precautions during the intense heatwave.
