Former Minister Harish Rao attended the Alai Balai program as the chief guest. The event was organized by former MLA Chanti Kranti Kiran. During the program, Rao expressed his condolences for the loss of important leaders Vijayaramaraju and Allam Nawaz Reddy. He said, “It is sad to lose important leaders like them. They contributed significantly to our party, and my tribute goes to them and their families.”
Rao spoke about the cultural importance of the Alai Balai celebrations. He mentioned that the festival reflects the rich culture of Telangana, where people worship Alai Balai flowers. He said these flowers played an inspiring role in the Telangana movement. The festival also celebrates nature and brings together people from all castes to share in the tradition of Bathukamma.
In his speech, Rao also addressed some urgent issues affecting the region. He talked about concerns over contaminated water in Sangareddy, which tragically led to the deaths of two people. He criticized the current administration for not providing safe drinking water, despite the Mission Bhagiratha initiative. Rao also pointed out the lack of support for farmers, mentioning that programs like Araithu Bandhu, Bathukamma saree distribution, and loan waivers have not been fulfilled.
Rao emphasized the need to fulfill promises made to the people. He said, “December 9 has come and gone, as has August 15. Minister Tummala mentioned that the loan waivers would be completed by December 9, but a year has already passed with no progress.”
Madhusudanachari, the Leader of the Opposition in the council, also spoke at the program. He praised Telangana as a model of unity in diversity, stating that people of various castes and religions have coexisted peacefully under the leadership of KCR for the past decade. He added that KCR’s governance has set an example for other states in the country.
The Alai Balai program not only honored the memory of respected leaders but also provided a platform for the community to come together and discuss important regional issues.
