Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao has criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for not keeping his promise to implement the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He accused the Chief Minister of letting farmers down by not depositing the promised funds into their accounts.
Harish Rao said that Revanth Reddy had clearly stated that the Rythu Bharosa money would be given to farmers by March 31. He added that this promise was even repeated during the recent Assembly Budget session. However, the funds have still not been released, leaving farmers disappointed and frustrated.
Rao accused the Chief Minister of making big promises but not taking real action. He said, “His promises cross mountains, but his steps do not even cross a doorstep,” pointing out that the Congress government failed to provide financial help to farmers in time for the Ugadi festival.
He also mentioned that the Congress government had made similar promises during previous festivals like Dasara and Sankranti, but those were not fulfilled either. He accused the Congress of being against farmers and said the new year has started on a bitter note for them.
Harish Rao compared the current Congress government to the previous BRS government led by KCR. He said that under the BRS, farmers received help through the Rythu Bandhu scheme before the sowing season. In contrast, he claimed that the current government is failing to support farmers even at harvest time.
