Harish Rao Slams Congress Government Over Unfulfilled Promises

Siddipet: Former minister and MLA T Harish Rao strongly criticized the Congress government on Wednesday, accusing it of failing to fulfill its promises to farmers. He alleged that while farmers are applying for loan waivers, the government is merely delaying under the pretense of processing applications. According to Rao, the Congress rose to power by deceiving the people, and the current administration continues to rely on lies.

Rao highlighted the government’s unfulfilled promise to provide free rice to everyone, calling it an empty assurance. He specifically challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to visit villages like Godi Cherlapalli or Kodangal instead of making claims about loan waivers from Hyderabad. Rao asserted that half of the promised farm loan waivers remain incomplete and dared Reddy to participate in gram sabhas to hear the truth directly from the people. Rao himself offered to attend these meetings to expose the reality.

During a gram sabha meeting in Ward 15 of Godi Cherlapalli, the MLA raised several demands, including the distribution of ration cards, Indiramma houses, and Indiramma Aathmiya Bharosa to all eligible residents. He also called for increasing the income limit for ration card eligibility. Rao noted that many farmers with loans under ₹2 lakh have not yet received waivers and questioned when the Rythu Bharosa funds for the Rabi and monsoon seasons would be released.

Rao accused the Chief Minister of misleading farmers with false promises, describing Revanth Reddy’s assurances as empty and dishonest. He alleged that the government was conducting gram sabhas under heavy police surveillance and even detaining individuals to suppress dissent. Rao also criticized the delay in cashing a blank cheque issued by the CM two months ago, accusing the government of fraud and a lack of integrity. He demanded that the government release a white paper on the status of loan waivers to ensure transparency.

The MLA expressed concern over the plight of farmers in the state, who he said are suffering due to unfulfilled promises and bureaucratic delays. He called for the immediate issuance of ration cards to all eligible citizens and criticized the government for failing to construct homes for the poor despite repeated promises. Rao demanded that all agricultural laborers receive Indiramma Aathmiya Bharosa benefits.

Rao also condemned the process of linking employment cards to agricultural laborers, calling it misleading. He argued that the government’s claims of helping the poor were false, as the financial support given to farmers fell far short of what was promised. He called for the distribution of Indiramma houses to deserving families and criticized Congress MLAs for using public spaces for photo opportunities while sidelining BRS MLAs.

Finally, Rao accused the government of ignoring proper protocols and claimed that the CM has faced widespread public dissatisfaction within just one year of taking office. He urged the government to take immediate action to address the concerns of farmers and the poor.
