Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T Harish Rao criticized the Congress government on Sunday for serving lunch with chili powder in government schools. He described this incident as inhumane and a sign of the government’s negligence.

The incident took place at a government school in Kottapalli, Kotagiri mandal in Nizamabad district. Students were seen mixing rice with chili powder and oil on Friday because they didn’t have proper meals. Harish Rao expressed his distress over the government’s irresponsible treatment of students, who are the future citizens of India.

Harish Rao pointed out that the government had abandoned the CM Breakfast Scheme, which was meant to provide nutritious food to students. The failure to provide proper mid-day meals shows the Congress government’s negligent attitude, according to him.

He further explained that due to pending bills for food supplies and unpaid wages for cooks and helpers involved in the mid-day meal scheme, students were not receiving adequate meals. Harish Rao urged Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to immediately address the issue by clearing the pending bills and paying the workers’ wages to ensure that students in government schools receive proper meals.
