Hyderabad: On Thursday, BRS MLA T Harish Rao criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He accused Reddy of breaking his promise to waive loans for farmers, despite swearing to God to fulfill it. Rao also accused Reddy of making false accusations against him and the BRS party.
Rao responded to the Chief Minister’s actions by saying that Reddy repeatedly proves he is not fit to be in office. According to Rao, Reddy’s behavior is so disgraceful that it’s embarrassing, and he hasn’t kept his promises despite swearing on religious figures. He further noted that Reddy has instead resorted to making baseless accusations.
Before the Assembly elections, Reddy promised to waive ₹40,000 crore in farmer loans by December 9 as a gift for Sonia Gandhi’s birthday. When he failed to deliver, he made another promise before the Parliament elections, claiming he would waive ₹31,000 crore by August 15, which was ₹9,000 crore less than his original promise. Rao explained that when people doubted him, Reddy began swearing to gods in various villages. Swearing on Sonia Gandhi and the gods has only revealed Reddy’s tendency to lie and break promises, Rao alleged.
Rao questioned who should take responsibility now that it’s clear the CM deceived people. He argued that using offensive language against the BRS or displaying anger doesn’t change the lies into truth. Rao accused Reddy of not only betraying farmers but also disrespecting religious beliefs.
Rao expressed his concern that since Reddy broke his promises, the gods might be angry with Telangana, leading to suffering for the people. He appealed to the gods not to punish Telangana for Reddy’s wrongdoing and vowed to plead for the well-being of the people despite the CM’s mistakes.
