Finance Minister T Harish Rao criticized the BJP for surrendering to the Congress party in the recent election. He compared this to the Congress surrendering during the Dubbaka and Munugodu by-elections. Harish Rao made these comments during a press event organized by the Telangana Union of Working Journalists. He stated that the Congress and BJP have essentially become one party in Telangana.

Harish Rao pointed out instances where the Congress and BJP have supported each other. He mentioned how the Congress supported the BJP’s decision to transfer seven mandals to Andhra Pradesh. He also highlighted how the Congress supported the BJP’s Siler Power Project Bill. Harish Rao criticized the Congress for not condemning a Union Minister who insulted the people of Telangana. He stated that if people want two parties that surrender to each other, they can vote for Congress.

Harish Rao addressed the allegations that the BRS and BJP are one party. He claimed that the Congress is only making these allegations for minority votes. He also mentioned that if the BRS and BJP were truly one party, the Governor would have supported their government. Harish Rao discussed the delay from the Governor’s side in passing the RTC bill and assured that after the elections, RTC workers will be considered government employees.

When asked about comments on the Centre’s dictate on meters for agriculture pump sets, Harish Rao stated that the State lost Rs 35,000 crore in loans over five years due to the Centre’s denial. He further accused the Congress of not fulfilling their promises to the people.
