The district administration organized a cricket match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Hanumakonda to educate young voters about their role in democracy. The match was part of the activities of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP). Participants included Hanumakonda district collector Sikta Patnaik, Warangal district collector P Pravinya, Commissioner of Police Ambar Kishor Jha, and Greater Warangal municipal commissioner Rizwan Basha Shaik.
Sikta Patnaik emphasized the importance of people’s participation in democratic governance. She urged young voters to take part in elections, which are essential for democracy. The participants pledged to exercise their voting rights.
In the 10-over match, Hanumakonda Hunters won against Warangal Warriors by three runs. Rahul Punjabrao Gawande, the Hanumakonda District Election Expenditure Observer, was named the Man of the Match for scoring 45 runs off 26 balls.
