A goat herdsman attacked and killed a man with an axe in an agricultural field near Chennampally village in Nagarkurnool district. The incident occurred on Friday, and the victim was identified as Mallaji, a resident of Chennampally village.
According to local villagers, Mallaji had an argument with Shiva Shankar, a goatherd from a neighboring field, in his elder brother’s mango garden. As Mallaji was returning home after the argument, he was attacked by the goatherd and died on the spot.
The villagers mentioned that there had been ongoing fights between the goatherd and Mallaji for the past few days. The police, including CI Ravinder and SI Jaganmohan, conducted an investigation at the site of the incident and the body was taken to Acchampet Hospital for postmortem. Mallaji is survived by his wife Mamata and two children.
