Nagar Kurnool: The grand Vasavi Mata Shobha Yatra was celebrated with great enthusiasm. This event was part of the 54th Sharad Navaratri festival. The procession started from the Shiva temple located in the market yard and made its way to the Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple.
The yatra included traditional elements such as wooden bhajans, kolatam (a traditional dance), and Bathukammas, making it a colorful and lively event. Rajitha and Haribabu, who are the festival committee presidents, performed the pujas and officially started the procession.
Devotees entertained the crowd with beautiful bhajans and kolatam performances. When the procession reached the Vasavi temple, special puja rituals were conducted. After the rituals, Anna Prasadam (sacred food) was distributed to the devotees. The cheetah-themed bhajans were a major highlight and drew special attention from the crowd. Under the guidance of the head priest, Pandurang Sharma, more special pujas were performed inside the temple. On this occasion, Vasavi Mata was dressed as Bala Tripura Sundari Devi, blessing all the devotees.
Later in the evening, after the puja, additional rituals like Gajula Alankarana (bangle decoration) and Gajula Abhishekam were performed. Devotional songs and discourses were led by Dr. Deekshitulu. Many devotees attended the event, including festival and temple committee members, Arya Vysya community leaders, and representatives from business associations.
