In Nagarkurnool district, the Bathukamma festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Police Parade Ground. The district police department organized the event, which saw the participation of many police officers, staff members, and their families. The District Superintendent of Police (SP), Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, led the efforts to make the celebrations grand and festive.
During the event, large and beautifully decorated Bathukammas were created, and traditional pujas were performed for Goddess Gauramma. After the rituals, many women gathered to play Bathukamma, a traditional game involving singing and dancing. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as everyone participated in this cultural tradition. SP Gaikwad and his wife also joined in the dancing, celebrating alongside the women.
SP Gaikwad, while speaking at the event, highlighted the importance of Bathukamma as the biggest festival in Telangana. He praised the festival for its deep connection to the region’s culture and traditions, saying it represents unity and joy. Additional SP CH Rameshwar and other senior police officers were also present, making the event even more special. The entire police department came together to celebrate, showing the harmony and festivity that Bathukamma brings to the community.
