    Governor hosts Republic Day “At Home” event

    The Governor of the state, Shri Vishnudev Varma, hosted the “At Home” event at Raj Bhavan to mark Republic Day celebrations. The occasion was attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and several other prominent dignitaries.

    Notable attendees included Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukender Reddy, Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, and several state ministers, such as Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jupalli Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasareddy, and Ponnam Prabhakar. Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Sujay Paul, Government Principal Secretary Shanti Kumari, senior armed forces officers, and other distinguished personalities were also present.

    For the first time, the Governor presented the “Governor Excellence 2024” awards during the event. These awards honored individuals and organizations for their exceptional contributions to fields such as environmental conservation, welfare of differently-abled individuals, culture, and sports.

    Among the recipients were Dushchala Satyanarayana, Arekappudi Raghu, Deepti Jivangi, Krishna Bharti, and Prof. Pandurang Rao. They were recognized for their remarkable services in their respective areas of work.

    Organizations like Dhruvansh Foundation, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Aditya Mehta Foundation, and Sanskriti Foundation were also awarded for their outstanding contributions. Representatives from these organizations accepted the honors on their behalf.

    In addition, Dr. G. Chandrashekhar Reddy, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, received the prestigious “Special Lifetime Award” for his exemplary service in the field of public service.
