Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan spoke at the Women’s Conclave on “Thanksgiving to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for passage of the Women Reservation bill” at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. She criticized the BRS government for not having any women ministers in the cabinet until she became the Governor. When she took office four years ago, she administered oaths to two women ministers.
During her speech, Tamilisai mentioned that she faced criticism and denial of facilities as a Governor, but she was not affected by it. She stated that she would build a fort with the stones thrown at her and write a history with her blood if someone attacked her. Her focus is on working for the people and empowering them.
Tamilisai also highlighted that it was the BJP that implemented reservation for women in organizational posts. The initiative by Prime Minister Modi to provide 33% reservation to women in legislative bodies will empower women in the country and contribute to development. However, she cautioned against influential leaders using the women’s quota to promote their family members as MPs and MLAs, as it goes against the purpose of reservation. She encouraged women not to give up when facing obstacles and emphasized that reservation provides a platform for women to showcase their strength in politics.
In conclusion, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan criticized the TS government for lacking Nari Shakti (women power).
