Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued a strict warning to government officials regarding negligence in providing nutritious food to students. During a review meeting with District Collectors on Thursday, he addressed recent incidents of food poisoning reported in schools across the State.

The Chief Minister made it clear that officials found guilty of negligence could face dismissal. Expressing concern over these incidents, he highlighted the State government’s efforts to improve education by filling thousands of teacher vacancies and ensuring better facilities for students.

Revanth Reddy reminded officials about the increase in DIET charges to provide nutritious meals for students. He also accused certain individuals of attempting to tarnish the government’s image by exaggerating or spreading false claims about food quality in schools. He assured that strict action would be taken against anyone trying to undermine the government’s initiatives, and those responsible for negligence would face legal consequences.

The Chief Minister further alleged that some vested interests were intentionally spreading rumours about the quality of food served in residential schools to create fear among parents. He instructed officials to counter such rumours firmly and to ensure that students in government schools, hostels, and residential institutions are treated with the same care as their own children, receiving healthy and hygienic meals.
