Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reassured farmers that the government is purchasing even soaked paddy and depositing cash into their accounts within three days of procurement. He criticized BRS leaders for spreading panic among farmers about the Rs 500 bonus per quintal for non-fine variety paddy, stating that the government will provide bonuses for both fine and non-fine varieties.

During a media interaction at Gandhi Bhavan, the deputy CM urged the opposition not to use politics to create problems for farmers. He condemned false propaganda by BJP and BRS leaders regarding paddy procurement in the state and assured that even germinated paddy will be bought at the Minimum Support Price by the government.

Reflecting on his padayatra experience from last year, where he witnessed farmers struggling with piles of soaked and germinating paddy due to the previous government’s failure in procurement, Bhatti emphasized that there is no need for farmers to worry under the current administration. He also mentioned that the State government has already started paying a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal for fine variety paddy.
