The Telangana government is speeding up the implementation of the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS). To encourage plot buyers, the government has announced a 25% subsidy on LRS charges for those who complete the process by March 31.
A review meeting was held at the Secretariat, led by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Dudilla Sridhar Babu. In the meeting, officials decided to provide various benefits to people who bought plots but haven’t registered them yet. The government also aims to regularise a large number of unsold plots in different layouts.
The ministers highlighted that many underprivileged people have been waiting for their LRS applications to be resolved for the past four years. They urged such individuals to take advantage of the government’s subsidy and complete the process before the deadline. Those who have already purchased plots and have sale deed registrations will be eligible for the 25% subsidy if they apply for LRS before March 31.
Officials were instructed to be cautious about lands that fall under the prohibited list and to strictly enforce regulations. The government wants to ensure that the LRS process is smooth and hassle-free for common people. To make it easier, plot owners can make payments at Sub-Registrar offices to complete their LRS regularisation and register their plots without having to visit multiple government offices.
