The Congress government in Telangana is making changes to the Rythu Bharosa scheme to avoid past mistakes. Government whip Adi Srinivas stated that the scheme will be implemented once new guidelines are in place.
Srinivas explained that the new guidelines will provide crop investment assistance of Rs 15,000 per acre to both landholding farmers and tenant farmers in Telangana. He criticized the previous government for misusing funds in the name of the RythuBandhu scheme, alleging that assistance was given to lands not used for agriculture.
The government is also committed to implementing an agriculture loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15. Srinivas called on BRS MLA Harish Rao to prepare a resignation letter in the format of an Assembly Speaker.
