The Higher Education department has requested a report on Manipuri students in the universities, the issues they are facing due to the clashes in Manipur, and the actions being taken by the institutions to address their problems.

The department has also asked the universities to take care of the basic needs of the Manipuri students, such as financial assistance and extending deadlines for fee submission. This request was made in response to letters from Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi.
