    Hyderabad: Telangana State Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar emphasized that agriculture remains a top priority for the State government and Chief Minister Sri Revanth Reddy. He made these remarks during an interaction with students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff of Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) on Wednesday.

    The Speaker highlighted several initiatives the State government has undertaken to support farmers. These include loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, and free electricity. He also noted that the government allocates approximately Rs 50,000 crore annually to boost the agricultural sector.

    Gaddam Prasad Kumar expressed pride in PJTAU, which is located in his home district. He congratulated the university for earning a geographical indication (GI) tag for Tandur Red Gram, a product that has gained international recognition.

    The Speaker praised the efforts of PJTAU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aldas Janaiah, and shared his hopes that the university would continue to thrive under his leadership. He assured the institution of his support in safeguarding its lands and assets for the benefit of farmers across the state.
