Hyderabad: With summer approaching and power demand expected to be high, power utility companies are preparing to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. They are making all necessary arrangements to avoid power outages.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has instructed officials to make sure there are no power interruptions, even for a minute, during the summer months. Since all necessary facilities have been provided, he emphasized that officials must work efficiently to maintain a steady power supply.

Bhatti highlighted that electricity is a critical service, and officials need to be alert at all times. He urged officers at all levels to hold meetings and assess their preparedness. He also suggested raising public awareness about power supply issues. The government, he assured, is ready to provide all necessary resources to help officials manage power distribution effectively.

He pointed out that Hyderabad has emergency electricity services and asked for similar services to be extended to rural areas. Additionally, he directed officials to complete the construction of substations and other infrastructure work by March 1, as all necessary approvals have been granted.

The Deputy CM reviewed the increasing power load at substations over the past three years and suggested introducing incentive awards for electricity department staff who perform well. He praised the efforts of employees who worked hard to restore power during recent floods and stated that such dedication should be recognized and rewarded.

To help consumers with power-related issues, he stressed the importance of promoting the emergency helpline number 1912. He suggested sending SMS alerts to consumers and including the number in electricity bills. The government is also ready to allocate funds for hiring more staff and providing technical support to strengthen the electricity department.
