The State government in Hyderabad has formed a cabinet sub-committee to work on implementing six guarantees. The sub-committee, led by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, includes Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy as members. The committee will meet regularly to finalize the details and plans for implementing the guarantees. Once approved by the State Cabinet, the schemes will be launched to benefit eligible beneficiaries in the State.
To address concerns that the Congress government may not deliver on its promises, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that the government is speeding up the digitization process for over 1.25 crore applications received through the Abhaya Hastham initiative. Around 30,000 data entry operators are being hired for this purpose.
Ponnam expressed reservations about the criticism from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, pointing out that they were in power for a decade and contributed to the State’s debt and bankruptcy. He also criticized K T Rama Rao’s statement about fake YouTube channels, highlighting the unethical practices and false propaganda of the BRS government. Ponnam warned that the Congress government will not tolerate false propaganda and will take tough measures against those engaged in it, even former Ministers.
Ponguleti clarified that out of the 1.25 crore applications, there are approximately 20 lakh applications for ration cards and jobs during the Praja Palana drive. He reassured that the government is committed to implementing the guarantees within 100 days, as promised by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Those who have applied for Abhaya Hastham will not be left out of the digitization process.
