Sultan Bazar (Secunderabad): The Deputy Chairman of the Telangana State Cooperative Societies Federation, Boinapally Vinodkumar, announced on Sunday that the BRS government is favorably inclined towards implementing a two-tier cooperative banking system in order to benefit farmers. This announcement was made during a meeting held at the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) headquarters, where discussions were held on constructive reforms in the cooperative sector.
During the meeting, Vinodkumar emphasized the need to introduce a two-tier cooperative banking system in order to enhance the cooperative sector. He further stated that if the unions submit a proposal on this matter, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would consider it. He also highlighted the importance of conducting further studies on this subject. Vinodkumar emphasized that the cooperative sector has greater potential than ever before and can create more opportunities in the present society.
It has been revealed that many farmers have land that is lying unused in the hands of a few individuals. After various agrarian reforms, land distribution has resulted in small-scale agriculture being practiced on these lands. The BRS government has established farmer platforms to address this issue and has appointed a special officer for each five acres of land to regulate agricultural activities. It has also provided Rs 5 lakhs per acre as financial assistance to farmers to encourage them.
If the employees of private banks demand nationalization, it is being criticized that the central government is dismantling the cooperative banking system in response. In view of the need to protect the banking system in the country’s economic structure, there is a demand for bank employees to raise awareness among the public. The President of AIBEA, B.S. Rambabu, the leader of the Cooperative Bank Employees Association, Surendar, and the President of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Bank Employees Federation, Ravindranath, have resigned from their positions.
The situation becomes precarious when the country’s economic system is dominated by a mixed economy. B.S. Rambabu, the national president of AIBEA, Surendar, the leader of the Cooperative Bank Employees Association, Ravindranath, the president of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Bank Employees Federation, and PV Krishna Rao, the general secretary, have all resigned from their roles.
