The Telangana government is now focusing on renovating more temples after the development of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta. The Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada and the Kurumurthy Devasthanams in Mahabubnagar have been allocated over ₹100 crore each for improvements.
During the State budget presentation, Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu highlighted the government’s efforts to develop the Kurumurthy Temple in Ammapur, Mahabubnagar district. A budget of ₹110 crore has been set aside for infrastructure projects, including the construction of a ghat road.
Additionally, the government has launched the Godavari River Harathi programme under the management of the Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Amma Temple. This initiative aims to enhance the spiritual and cultural significance of the region. For the development of Vemulawada, known as the “Kashi of the South,” ₹100 crore has been sanctioned, and work is progressing quickly. In this year’s budget, ₹190 crore has been proposed for the Endowments Department.
To respect the sentiments of Telangana’s people, the government has officially renamed Yadadri as Yadagirigutta. The Vimana Gopuram (temple tower) of the Yadagirigutta Temple was adorned with 60 kilograms of gold, and a grand Consecration Ceremony (Samprokshanam) was held to mark this achievement.
Furthermore, the government is setting up a Yadagirigutta Temple Board, similar to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board. This new board will ensure the temple’s efficient management and future development, solidifying its status as a major religious and cultural center.
