    Government aims to ensure welfare for everyone, says Wanaparthy collector

    Wanaparthy District Celebrates 76th Republic Day

    The people of Wanaparthy District gathered to celebrate the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The event took place at the local government polytechnic college grounds, where the District Collector served as the chief guest. He hoisted the national flag and sang the national anthem, marking the occasion with patriotism and pride.

    After receiving the police salute, the Collector delivered a speech highlighting the welfare and development programs implemented in the district. He outlined the progress made by various departments and honored freedom fighter Seethamma with a shawl as a mark of respect. The event also featured patriotic dances and cultural performances by students, which captivated the audience. Additionally, stalls set up by different departments showcased their initiatives.

    The Collector presented a cheque worth Rs. 246 crore for bank linkage loans to 2,646 women’s associations. He discussed the “Mahalakshmi Scheme,” which offers free travel for women and transgenders in RTC rural and express buses across Telangana. Since its launch, nearly 1.59 crore women in Wanaparthy have benefited, saving Rs. 64.79 crore. The scheme also provides cooking gas at Rs. 500, benefiting 82,933 people in the district.

    The “Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme” has also brought relief to 60,545 farmers, with loans worth Rs. 480.91 crore waived. Under the Farmer Insurance Scheme, Rs. 13.40 crore was credited to the families of 268 deceased farmers. The “Rythu Bharosa” program supports farmers with Rs. 12,000 per acre annually, and a survey identified 4,345 acres of uncultivable land, saving the government Rs. 5.21 crore per year.

    Improved Healthcare Facilities

    The government’s Rajiv Arogyasri Scheme now provides free medical treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh, benefiting 8,313 people in Wanaparthy and spending Rs. 19.40 crore. A 330-bed hospital in the district is being expanded to 530 beds, with Rs. 13 crore allocated for school development and improved medical facilities. A liquid oxygen plant and a critical care unit with 50 beds have also been established. The Mission Diabetes program offers free diabetes testing and medicines to residents.

    Housing and Electricity Initiatives

    The Indiramma House Scheme aims to construct 3,500 houses per constituency, providing Rs. 5-6 lakh in financial aid to eligible families. The Gruhajyoti Scheme offers free electricity to consumers using less than 200 units, with 80,142 residents receiving zero bills and a subsidy of Rs. 14.11 crore.

    Social Welfare Programs

    The Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa Scheme provides Rs. 12,000 annually to landless agricultural families. Under the “Cheyutha” scheme, monthly pensions are offered to the elderly, widows, and disabled individuals. Over 1.57 lakh ration cards are being used to distribute rice, with new cards to be issued soon.

    Enhanced Law and Order

    To ensure safety, the district police have set up a command control room and installed CCTV cameras across all mandals. SHE Teams provide security for women, and a newly established cybercrime unit is raising awareness to prevent online fraud.

    In his concluding remarks, the Collector expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including government officials, the police, and the public, for their contributions to the district’s development. The event saw participation from officers, public representatives, students, and citizens, making it a grand and memorable occasion.
