Government Selects Villages for Indiramma Phase-1
The government has chosen villages for the Indiramma Phase-1 housing scheme, according to V.P. Gautam, the Managing Director of the State Housing Department.
On Monday, District Collector B.M. Santosh and Gautam visited Batladinne village in Itikyala Mandal. This village has been selected as a model village for the scheme.
Under this program, beneficiaries must build houses of 400 square feet. The government will provide financial assistance of ₹5 lakh in installments. The first payment of ₹1 lakh will be given after the foundation and basement are completed.
Officials assured that skilled masons would be available to help with construction. Additionally, Panchayat Secretaries will monitor the progress of the houses.
Gautam warned against middlemen demanding bribes and stated that strict action would be taken against them. He also clarified that the funds are only for new houses and not for repairing old ones. Beneficiaries are encouraged to begin construction as soon as possible.
