The long-awaited four-lane flyover between Golnaka and Amberpet was officially opened to the public on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The project, which cost ₹338 crore, was cleared by Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy. The 1.7-kilometre flyover was built to reduce congestion on the busy Hyderabad-Warangal highway.

However, on its first day, many commuters were hesitant to use the new flyover. Instead, they continued to navigate the chaotic traffic below. Vehicles traveling from Ramanthapur to Amberpet faced difficulties due to an uneven road filled with potholes and mud. Traffic remained disorganized as buses, cars, and goods carriers struggled for space.

Local shopkeepers and street vendors under the flyover expressed their dissatisfaction with the project. Some believed that simply widening the existing road would have been a better solution. One vendor even stated, “A simple road widening would have sufficed,” reflecting the concerns of many about the flyover’s actual impact on congestion.

While the flyover offers a smoother route for those who choose to use it, the situation below remains problematic. Many commuters continue to face daily traffic struggles, raising doubts about whether the project has truly solved the congestion issues.
