The police and election officials in the state are inspecting to make sure everyone follows the Election Code. They have been seizing large amounts of cash, gold, and silver jewelry. Recently, they found 7 kg of gold in a car during a vehicle check at the Madgi interstate check post. Since the proper documents were not provided, the gold was taken away. The gold is worth around Rs. 4 crore 55 lakhs and was being transported from Gujarat to Hyderabad. These inspections and seizures are happening to make sure the electoral process is fair and transparent by stopping any illegal or unaccounted-for wealth. Enforcing the rules helps keep the elections honest and prevents anyone from influencing the voting process.
