The Telangana Government will organize the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at the historic Golconda fort in Hyderabad. As elections are coming up in the next 90 days, the government wants to make the celebrations a big cultural event that represents the uniqueness of Telangana.
The State Culture department has been instructed to arrange special cultural programs for the event. Tribal artists and state cultural groups will perform traditional dances and Telangana art forms during the celebrations.
Various government departments have been directed to make extensive arrangements for the celebration in collaboration with Army officials at the Martyrs’ Memorial at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. The Police, Roads and Buildings, Information department, GHMC, Electricity, Transport, and other departments will handle the necessary arrangements for a smooth event.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari conducted a high-level meeting to discuss the arrangements at both venues. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will raise the national flag at Golconda fort and pay tribute to freedom fighters at the Martyrs’ Memorial. During the celebrations, KCR will also present special awards to artists and notable figures in the field of fine arts.
