GoCoop, the winner of the first National award for E-marketing of Handlooms, recently hosted the ‘Crafting Change Awards’ as part of National Handloom Day. The purpose of the awards was to recognize and celebrate the contributions of artisan partners in developing and promoting handloom products in India. To further support artisans, GoCoop is also organizing the ‘Go Swadeshi’ handloom exhibition until August 13 at Kalinga Cultural Hall in Hyderabad.
The Go Swadeshi exhibition will feature a wide range of handloom sarees, fabrics, dress materials, stoles, dupattas, menswear, home décor, and accessories from weavers and artisans across India. The goal of the event is to assist artisans and revive the pride in hand-spun, hand-woven, and handcrafted products.
Visitors to Go Swadeshi can expect a mix of contemporary and traditional handlooms from various states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The collection includes exquisite silk sarees from Karnataka, vibrant Bengal Jamdanis and Tangail sarees, as well as elegant Maheshwaris and Chanderis. Additionally, there is a selection of timeless classics available.
The exhibition not only showcases clothing but also offers a range of handwoven fabrics, apparel, home furnishings, menswear, and accessories. For those who appreciate handmade items, there is also a variety of unique weaves, crafts, and handcrafted jewelry available. The event provides an opportunity for weavers and artisans to directly sell their products to consumers and allows customers to embrace a Swadeshi style statement.
Overall, the Go Swadeshi exhibition celebrates the rich handloom and handicraft traditions of India while supporting the livelihoods of artisans.
