A group of teachers and employees gathered at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday to demand the State government resolve the issue surrounding GO 317.
The protestors, who came from various parts of the State, raised slogans against GO 317. They urged the Congress government to fulfill its promise to address the issue immediately.
The employees explained that on October 2, when the Congress was in opposition, the party had promised to scrap GO 317 once it came to power. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who was the PCC president in 2023, had assured employees he would resolve the matter while seeking their support during the elections.
Although Congress formed a cabinet sub-committee with Ministers Damodara Rajanarsimha, Sridhar Babu, and Ponnam Prabhakar after winning the election, no decision has been made yet. This delay has frustrated the employees, leading them to protest near Gandhi Bhavan.
Later, a group of employees submitted their concerns to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud. He promised to bring the issue to the attention of the Chief Minister and other Ministers.
