    The GITAM School of Technology is organizing ‘Cyber Security Week 2024’ at the Vemana Institute of Technology in Bengaluru. This event will take place from October 21 to 24, 2024.

    The main goal of the event is to help students improve their knowledge and skills in cybersecurity. The programme will begin on October 21 with an inauguration ceremony. Vishal Kalla from Hitachi India, Hyderabad, will give a keynote speech titled “Cybersecurity in Action: Industry Insights and Solutions for the Digital Age.” At the same time, Gururaj Deshpande will present another talk called “From Minor Bugs to Major Breaches: Cyber Attack Stories,” where he will share real-world cybersecurity experiences.

    On the same day, there will be a forensics workshop called ‘Big Cyber Informatics’ led by Dilip S, an assistant professor at Vemana Institute of Technology. This session will take place from 2 to 4 pm.

    On October 22, students can participate in an online event called the Securathon Ideathon. This will run from 10 am to 5 pm and give students a chance to present their ideas on specific cybersecurity topics. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, with Rs 2,000 for first place, Rs 1,500 for second, Rs 1,000 for third, and Rs 500 for a consolation prize. Registration is required to join the event.

    The highlight of the week will be the Securehack 24-hour hackathon. This competition will start on October 23 at 10 am and end the next day at 12 pm. Participants will compete for cash prizes, including Rs 10,000 for first place, Rs 7,500 for second, Rs 5,000 for third, and Rs 2,500 for a consolation prize.
