Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ronald Rose, has instructed officials to make arrangements for providing free breakfast to students in government schools. This new scheme, which will be launched on October 24 in celebration of Dasara, aims to offer free breakfast to students, similar to the mid-day meals. Rose conducted a conference with Hyderabad Collector Anudeep Durishetti, Additional Commissioner Sneha Sabarish, and Zonal Commissioners to discuss the breakfast arrangements in all government schools under GHMC. He suggested that one school from each constituency should be chosen to initiate the breakfast program with the cooperation of district Education department officials.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of involving local legislators, ministers, and public representatives in the inaugural program. He also proposed partnering with organizations like Akshaya Patra Trust and other trusts. The main goal of this initiative is to enhance the nutritional value for school children while providing relief to working mothers.
Rose directed officials to select schools from various areas such as Musheerabad, Amberpet, Secunderabad, Sanathnagar, Begumpet, Lalaguda, Bansilalpet, Boiguda, West Marredpally, Cantonment, Kavadiguda, Vengalrao Nagar, West Bowenpally, and others.
