The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a notice to Swetha Granites and Swetha Agencies, which are owned by the family members of Telangana’s BC Welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar. The notice is regarding their violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). The ED officials have found irregularities in the export of granite material to China by the Swetha granite companies. The companies have only paid Rs 3 crore to the government but owe around Rs 50 crore.

In November 2022, the ED and Income Tax (IT) department officials conducted raids at granite companies in Baopet of Kothapally mandal in Karimnagar district for three days. They also searched the minister’s house, which is also the official address of Swetha Granites.
