Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and top party leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday to attend the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting. The leaders went straight to Taj Krishna hotel, where the meeting is being held. They were welcomed at the airport by AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, AICC incharge for Telangana Manikrao Thakrey, State Congress chief Revanth Reddy, and other leaders.
The first meeting of the newly-constituted CWC began in the afternoon. All CWC members except former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be attending the meeting. The meeting will discuss and formulate the party’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections in five states, including Telangana, and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. On Sunday, an extended meeting will be held with all PCC presidents and CL leaders, followed by a mega public rally on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the evening. Top party leaders will address the rally, where the party will unveil its six guarantees for Telangana.
