The Mother and child hospital super specialty and other specialised centres in Gandhi Medical College will be inaugurated on August 16. Health Minister T Harish Rao made this announcement during the college’s graduation ceremony. He praised the progress in medical education and emphasized the need for a strong healthcare system. Rao shared his vision of nurturing skilled doctors who provide excellent medical care.

Rao mentioned the history of Gandhi Medical College, which started as a private institution in 1954 and became a government medical college in 1956. He also highlighted the limited expansion of medical colleges in the past, especially during the rule of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
