During the budget session held at a hotel in Gadwal, District Collector Valluri Kranti announced that the Gadwal municipality’s estimated budget for 2023-24 is Rs.43.15 crore. She also revealed that the surplus for 2022-23 is Rs.75.80 lakh and the revised revenue is Rs.43.15 crore. Kranti urged councillors and officials to work together for the town’s development.
Kranti also shared that the verification process for double bedroom house applicants has been completed according to government norms. The eligibility list will be announced in respective ward meetings. The verification process considered factors such as an annual income of Rs.2 lakh, white ration card, lack of own house, and presence of many members in a family. She mentioned that some individuals have gone to court on these issues, and after a court verdict, the houses will be allocated based on SC, ST, BC, minority, and ex-servicemen reservations. The beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery system.
The budget session was attended by municipal chairman BS Keshav, vice-chairman Babar, municipal commissioner Narasimha, councillors, and other officials. With the estimated budget and plans for housing allocation, Gadwal municipality is poised for development and progress.
