Telangana gained independence on September 17, 1948, after the British Raj ended in India. G Kishan Reddy, Union Tourism Minister and BJP State president, made this statement in Warangal. Reddy addressed a crowd at Amaradhamam, which is the home of Telangana Amaraveerula Stupam, in Parkal. He criticized the Congress and the BRS for distorting Telangana’s history.

Reddy mentioned that during the Nizam regime, the Razakar militia, led by Kasim Razvi, caused chaos in the region. They looted people and committed atrocities against women. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a crucial role in Operation Polo, which brought the Nizam under control. This operation freed the people of Telangana from autocratic rule.
