    The FSIB has recommended Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as the next Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI). Setty has 36 years of experience with SBI and is currently heading International Banking, Global Markets & Technology verticals of the Bank. He joined the Board of SBI as managing director in January 2020.

    Setty hails from Telangana, making his appointment as chairman a proud moment for the state. Before his current role, he led the Retail & Digital Banking vertical and has headed various task forces/committees formed by the Government of India. Setty started his career with SBI in 1988 as a Probationary Officer and has rich experience in Corporate credit, Retail, Digital and International banking.

    He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. Throughout his career, Setty has worked in banking in developed markets and has a strong background in different banking sectors.
