    Hyderabad is bustling with activity as the holy month of Ramzan is coming to an end soon, and the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is approaching. Families in the city are busy shopping for the upcoming celebrations, despite the hot summer weather.

    The markets in Hyderabad are filled with a vibrant atmosphere during Eid ul-Fitr, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the city and emphasizing the spirit of unity and togetherness that defines this auspicious occasion. As Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the sighting of the moon, the city markets are buzzing with shoppers preparing for the festivities.

    The heart of Hyderabad, including the Charminar-Madina building stretch and Lad Bazar, has become a focal point for Eid preparations, with decorative market streets attracting large numbers of shoppers looking to make purchases for the joyous occasion. The last days of Ramzan, known as ‘Akhri daha’, see an increase in activity in the markets, reflecting the traditional charm and vibrant atmosphere of the season.

    Housewives are busy with Ramzan shopping, buying clothes, sandals, bangles, and accessories for themselves and their families. Shopping during Ramzan and in the heat wave conditions can be challenging, leading some shoppers to visit markets late at night to avoid the heat. The festive fever has gripped the city, with markets filled with people buying Eid essentials and clothing.

    All shops and markets are decorated with lights and remain open until dawn during the festive season. The Ramzan season sees a surge in sales of clothing, crockery, attars, perfumes, bangles, footwear, and artificial jewelry. Non-Muslim communities also join in the festive season, enjoying shopping and indulging in mouth-watering delicacies.

    Muslims who fast during the day visit the market after Iftar, gathering with their families to purchase various items. The Charminar market attracts shoppers not only from the local community but also from neighboring districts. Business in the market picks up after 7 pm and continues into the early morning hours, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere.
