Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced a free cancer screening camp for its employees. The camp will take place on Tuesday, October 8, from 9 am to 5 pm.
GHMC Commissioner, Amrapali Kata, has instructed all circle and zonal officers, along with Heads of Departments (HODs), to ensure that employees who are sick or show signs of illness are sent to the head office for screening. Each circle and zonal officer, along with the HODs, is required to send ten workers to the camp for testing.
The Commissioner also asked officials to make proper arrangements for the camp. She highlighted that it is important for workers to come on an empty stomach to help with the medical tests.
The free cancer screening camp is being organized by Dr. Vimalakar Reddy from Team Vimalakar Foundation, in partnership with KIMS, Sunshine Hospital, and other medical professionals. The goal of the camp is to detect cancer early and help prevent it.
The screening will include a variety of medical tests such as ultrasound, endoscopy, blood tests, X-rays, ECG, and several other health checks to assess liver and kidney functions. Screenings for specific diseases like Hepatitis B and C will also be conducted.
